B.Tech. (AICTE Approved) 1st Year Admission 2024-25

General guidelines for admission in 1st year B.Tech. under Rural Quota (Non-Sikh & Sikh-Minority candidates of Punjab) and Urban Quota (only Sikh-Minority candidates of Punjab and other states) for the session 2024-25:

1. A candidate can apply on the basis of 10+2 examination. Admission will be based on Inter-Se-Merit of qualifying examination.

2. Candidates may apply online through existing registration number or a new registration on

https://admission.gndec.ac.in

3. Non-refundable Rs. 1200/- (Rs. 200/- as user registration charges on admission.gndec.ac.in from the candidates wishing to participate in counselling + Rs. 1000/- as other processing charges) will be charged as one-time processing fee i.e. a candidate can participate in any number of counselling rounds for a program.

4. Candidate will have to submit the application form online on admission portal as per the notified schedule.

5. Provisional merit list(s) will be displayed on college website i.e. https://www.gndec.ac.in/ before the counselling and discrepancies (if any) in merit list will be invited on counselling day, before the start of counselling process.

6. Only one round of Counselling based on above said reservations will be held and remaining vacant seats (if any) will be transferred to IKGPTU under Urban Quota without any further quota/reservation i.e. in General category in Punjab 85% & similarly the remaining vacant seats of 15% Sikh-minority other state quota will be transferred to 15% Non-Sikh Quota under General category and no waiting list will be prepared. Seats falling vacant in one category will not be transferred to any other category during this counselling.

7. Candidates admitted through stated round of counselling will have to pay one-time Rs.2000/- (non-refundable) as university counselling fee.

8. Apart from the basic eligibility, a rural candidate needs to submit both “Rural Area Certificate” (issued by Tehsildar/SDM/Distt. Admin. Officer) and “Rural Education Certificate” (5 years study issued by school Headmaster/Principal as per the format).

9. To claim seat under Sikh-Minority quota, a candidate must have qualified SRE-2024.

10. It is mandatory for candidate to bring all the original certificates with him/her as per their eligibility at the time of counselling.

11. The candidate must bring full fee with him/her at the time of counselling / Allotment of seat else their seat shall stand cancelled and will be offered to the next candidate. No claims will be entertained afterwards in this regard.

12. Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) for Eligible SC candidates during this counselling is available only for Punjab resident and eligible candidates will be allowed only by paying applicable fee.

  1. Counselling for eligible candidates with all reservations will be held on the basis of merit of marks of applicable subjects in 10+2.

  2. To claim seat under Sikh-Minority quota, a candidate must have qualified SRE-2024.

  3. To claim seat under Rural Quota, a candidate has to produce “Rural Area Certificate” and “Rural Education Certificate” (5 years study in school located in rural area) as per the guidelines.

  4. Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) for Eligible SC candidates during this counselling is available only for Punjab resident only.

  5. Candidates, who do not fall under above categories, can also apply for Direct Counselling which will be conducted after two rounds of IKGPTU centralized counselling.
