ABOUT WORKSHOP

This two day workshop is to provide insight into data science, an interdisciplinary field about processes and systems to extract knowledge or insights from data in various forms, either structured or unstructured. This area is of utmost importance as there is an significant and growing demand for data science professionals and researchers in businesses, public agencies, and non-profits organisations. The selection of data science tools is based on the philosophy to gain insight to the methodologies used in the data science process and how to successfully harness machine learning to convert data into actionable business insight. This workshop will introduce to participants the various skills that go into data science, provide practical walk-through of relevant languages and tools and lay down a study plan for moving forward in this field.
