MOU with Punjab Remote Sensing Centre, Ludhiana

Punjab Remote Sensing Centre, Ludhiana and Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana joins hands to excel in Geo-Spatial Technologies.

Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC), Ludhiana, the oldest engineering college of Punjab and Punjab Remote Sensing Centre (PRSC), Ludhiana, a prestigious organisation of Government of Punjab has signed Memorandum of Understating (MoU) today. The MoU signing ceremony held at Testing and Consultancy Cell, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana. The purpose of MOU is to collaborate and share resources for academic and research in the area of Geo-spatial technologies. The MOU has been signed by Dr. M.S.Saini, Director GNDEC, Ludhiana and Dr. Brijendra Pateriya, Director PRSC, Ludhiana. The MOU signing ceremony was attended by senior scientists from PRSC, Ludhiana and Deans& HODs from GNDEC, Ludhiana.

Dr. Pateriya stated that such collaboration is needed for the conduct of society relevant research and making it cost effective. Dr. Saini said that faculty and students of GNDEC will be able to work on live projects relevant to the people of Punjab. The expertise of PRSC in remote sensing and expertise of GNDEC in Land Surveying, Information Technology and exploitation of free and open source softwares will be optimally used for undertaken projects related to GIS. Hi-tech training programmes and research projects will get major boost as a result of this MOU.
